The holiday season is upon us and what better way to celebrate, than with a company holiday party! Many SmartPak employees braved the frigid, almost single digit weather and arrived festively dressed in hues of red or green. With a Casino Night theme (complete with SmartPak funny money), open bar, and tasty hors d’oeuvres, the night proved to be very entertaining.

Some of my coworkers and their spouses took on blackjack, others craps, poker or the money wheel. Some didn’t even bother gambling and enjoyed conversing with friends, while some senior management were behind the tables dealing the lucky (or unlucky) hands. I tried my luck at the roulette table for a few dozen spins, mainly unsuccessfully, but still enjoying the challenge.

After gambling was over, we cashed in our chips for raffle tickets to win some great prizes. The lovely ladies participating in the Avon Breast Cancer walk also raised money for the walk with a 50/50 raffle and before drawing the winner; they serenaded the festive party goers with the song “Build Me Up, Buttercup”.

After the suspense of awarding the coveted raffle items, the party was far from over as many of the SmartPak employees cut loose on the dance floor and enjoyed the music. Although this was only my first holiday gathering with SmartPak, it is very clear they sure know how to throw a fabulous party and have a great time!
